Project Summary
With over 2500 employees occupying seven buildings in Northern Virginia, MITRE decided there was a way that they could better manage their real estate assets and create a world-class work environment for their employees. A strategic plan was developed to consolidate their regional facilities, and in the summer of 2001, 938 MITRE employees took occupancy of the first of three buildings.

Throughout the project, there was a strong emphasis on creating a high performance work environment that would be inspiring to their employees and meet the demands of their work. MITRE worked closely with their design firm Ai, and Arbee Associates to complete a facility that would support a culture where classified and sensitive work is done, while also striking a balance that encourages communication and collaboration.

Project Scope

•	Establish a standards program that incorporates flexible and high quality products.
•	Provide all furnishings for a new, 300,000 square foot facility.
•	Accommodate special considerations for labs and state-of-the-art videoconference rooms.
•	Coordinate a 7-phase delivery and installation schedule over the course of 4 months.
•	Create an E-Commerce program.
